De Jonge InstAdventures #3

10-07-2018

July is here, and we want to update you all :)

We are now 6 weeks away from getting on that plane to Redding California! It's so crazy if we stop and think about it. And sometimes we don't do that often enough. Through all the hustle and preparations, we sometimes forget what we are actually going to do and how immensely blessed we are!!! Well, it just hit us again :P

Helena just officially resigned from work, these are the last weeks of work for her. Our blue bug (car petname:P) is also for sale.... Things are getting so real so fast!

We are still looking for a house and trying to figure out all the administrative things in the USA. But we also know that for certain things we will just have to get out there and go through some stuff ;). As we are little by little emptying out our house (for we will be letting go of the lease) we are also very excited to start something new in the states. Helena is still trying to figure out how to fit all her clothes, shoes, bags etc in ONE suitcase....hahahaha

Even though Holland is not playing the world cup we have been enjoying and watched pretty much every game! We still hope we will get to see Holland win the world cup one day... And even Morgan likes to watch the ball go round and round :P

Haha everytime we see a VW van our dream of ever owning one just bursts right up! We will be yelling at eachotther: "baby baby, busje!!!". Hehe one day, one day...

Just also a random pic of Morgan and his annoyed face, because Michael picked him up a few times to many :P (Yes we are those pet parents that only have pictures of their pet babies on their phone, sorry not so sorry :P)

Some other REALLY EXCITING NEWS is that we paid our full 1styr tuition! We worked (and still are) really hard to save money and be able to cover tuition, flights, visa payments, house deposit, car rental and some other stuff while we keep paying the bills here :O And we can only say that all this is possible through and with God. Anyone who knows us both, knows we are TERRIBLE at saving hahaha. We've always just managed well and never got into trouble, but now being able to save this much in only six months really showed us how God has been shaping us and wants us to go to Bethel and that He is helping us, also in the finance part! We still have a long way to go but trust completely in God that He will provide and more! Soooo, in order to celebrate milestones we decided to go for some icecream and air hockey with the van den Bossies! Our dear friends who have been supporting us greatly and who we will miss loads!

And on that note, we also decided that to slow down our pace and enjoy the last few weeks here, it is important to sometimes just say "hey let's just go to the beach!". And so, we did. Last year we went to a concert of Xavier Rudd. You maybe know him of the song: Follow, Follow the sun. Remember that song for the Sunweb commercial... Well at that concert there was this super awesome Australian drummer with roots from Samoa; Bobby Alu, as the supporting act. And we immediately were fans! Island music is one of our favs and when we heard he would give a free concert at a beach club (Timboektoe) it was a no brainer. With great summer weather, feet in the warm sand and a cold drink in our hands we enjoyed the sun, each other and Bobby Alu <3

So that was it for this time! hope you enjoyed :)
